Introducing...

Me! And my travels on continent number 4...and beyond!

Unlike my first 2 blogs, this blog is for an undetermined amount of time. I'm trying a new approach which will have me uploading more pictures and what have you. I also called it around the world so ideally, after Europe is conquered, I won't have to make another blog for my exploits in the next top secret location...okay, not top secret, I just have no idea myself where I will end up after Europe, or when that will be.

It is either a fantastically ambitious and adventurous plan, or, simply put: stupid.

And what is a start to a travel adventure without some controversy? Korea had the cold feet and overall nerves, while Australia had the initial airport mix ups.

The controversy this time just deals with my frustration at being at a kids camp, with a broken hand! The frustration started 2 weeks prior, while playing in a baseball tournament in Kerwood Ontario. I was playing in deep left centre when a pop fly to the shallow part of my field...I raced towards the ball, dove at the last second and made an unorthodox catch after breaking a bone in my hand. A couple days later I went to the hospital to check it out and left with a cast and the promise it would be off in 2 weeks, just in time for my flight to France.

It wasn't so. An X-ray through the cast showed the bone was in the right spot. but not nearly healed yet. I was told there was another four weeks of the cast...pretty much the duration of camp!

I'm trying not to let it get me down...but I am failing miserably at it! I can't imagine chasing kids around for a month to be nearly as fun when I have to be careful about my hand. It took a lot of convincing from my family to not just take the cast off myself and embark on a castless voyage. It is a good thing I didn't let people at NCO write dirty things on it!

I encourage my readers to bug me to make posts on here, especially if they see me active on facebook. I really would like to try to be more active in my writing. Here is to fresh starts, and the beginings of a new adventure at American Village camp in France!
